I’m a 29 year old web designer/flash developer/javascript programmer that occasionally likes to dabble in the dark art of web development (SQL, PHP, ASP.NET).
Currently based in Glasgow, I am available for freelance work or employment in the central Scotland area.
I’ve spent the last two years working for a city centre design agency and over that time I have developed a real passion for all things client-side, from JavaScript to ActionScript, XHTML & CSS to MXML with Flex. I think the reason why I love what I do so much is that I get to combine all the enjoyable aspects of programming (yes they do exist) and still get my fill of creative outlet.
Web Design
From concept artwork to finished build, my main focus is always: Why is the user visiting this site? What is it they are looking to get out of the experience? and it is this that drives me in my efforts (as well as, of course, the clients purpose!)
ActionScript & JavaScript
One of the key aspects in any business is reusability and it is no different in the world of web design, wherever possible, I build components to be as abstract and customisable as possible, allowing for greater flexibility and allowing me time to ensure robustness in every aspect.
3D Modelling & Animation
Now more a hobby than a service, I enjoy 3D character modelling and animation using Lightwave 3D, although I do try to integrate it into my working life wherever possible!
